Yuka is Yuuichi Katagiri's adoptive mother who is presumably deceased and is mainly shown sporadically in flashbacks throughout the series. Unlike Yuuichi's mentor and father figure Shiba, Yuka teaches Yuuichi that friends are "more important than money".
